This expertential website and software platform are operated by expertential Pty Ltd. We are committed to protecting our customers' personal information, and other information, and want to make sure that you understand fully what we collect from you, how we use it, and the safeguards we have in place designed to protect it.

This Privacy Policy ("Policy") applies to information collected through this website, through our software, and through our social media pages ("Social Media Pages") located at www.facebook.com/expertential and www.twitter.com/expertential. This policy may change over time as our website, our products and relevant laws develop, so be sure to check back periodically to stay up to date.


What Types of User Information Do We Collect?

Depending on the circumstances we may collect and hold a range of different information about you. This can include personally identifiable information that you voluntarily submit to us. Part of the functionality of the expertential software allows you (the user) to invite colleagues and clients to join an online network. In this instance we rely on you to inform those individuals that you are providing their personal information to us, and advise them about this privacy policy.

We may store your information in hard copy or electronic format, in storage facilities that we own and operate ourselves, or that are owned and operated by our service providers. We take reasonable steps to maintain the security of your information (outlined in our Security Statement) and protect it from unauthorised disclosures.

Whilst we take these steps to maintain the security of your information, you should be aware of the many information security risks that exist today and take appropriate care to safeguard your information.


How Do We Use The Information We Collect?

Information that is collected about you by the expertential website and software is used for a range of purposes, including:

  • to process and respond to your requests
  • providing, operating, managing, promoting and improving the expertential software
  • enabling you (the user) to access the expertential software, including uploading, downloading, communicating, collaborating, and sharing content with other users of expertential software
  • to complete and fulfil your purchases, for example, processing transactions and sending you related information, including purchase confirmations and invoices
  • communicating with you in response to requests, questions, comments, queries and feedback we have received; providing you with information about product updates and new services, email newsletters; news or information about select partners; and sending you information about updates, security issues, notices and support and administrative messages. Notwithstanding the foregoing, we will not use personal information appearing in our event logs or web logs for any purpose unless it is required, by law that we do so.


How Do We Share Information With Third Parties?

We may disclose your personally identifiable information to third parties who provide services to us, including organisations and contractors that assist us with the purposes for which we use your information. Your information may be disclosed as follows:

  • to our affiliates for the purposes described in this policy. expertential Pty Ltd is the party responsible for management of the jointly-used personally identifiable information
  • to third parties who provide services such as web hosting, data analysis, payment processing, order fulfilment, information technology and related infrastructure provision customer service, email delivery, credit card processing, auditing and other similar services. We require that our service providers adhere to appropriate restrictions on access and use of your information
  • to our third party service providers supplying mailing operations and billing and debt-recovery functions
  • to identify you to anyone to whom you send messages on the site

Additionally, your personally identifiable information may also be disclosed by you on message board, chat, profile pages, blogs and other services to which you are able to post information and materials (including, without limitation, our Social Media pages). Please note that any information you post or disclose through these services will become public information, and may be available to user of the site and the general public. We urge you to be careful when deciding to disclose your personally identifiable information, or any other information, on the site.

How Do I Access My Information, Correct My Information, or Make a Privacy Complaint?

If you wish to access any of your personally identifiable information that we hold, or would like to correct any errors in that information, please contact us so that we can consider and respond to your request. We may apply an administrative charge for providing access to your personal information in response to a request.

You may also use these contact details to notify us of any privacy complaint that you have against us, including if you think that we have failed to comply with the Australian Privacy Principles (APP) or any binding APP code that has been registered under the Privacy Act. We are committed to acknowledging your complaint in a prompt manner and will give you an estimated timeframe for when we will respond to your complaint.

Whilst we hope to that we will be able to resolve any complaints you may have without needing to involve third parties, you may also be able to lodge a complaint with the relevant regulator such as the Australian Information Commissioner (www.oaic.gov.au) or the Australian Communications and Media Authority (www.acma.gov.au).
